梁振康，字妙，别号建行，广东新会人士，1967—72年随领东金石名家陈景昭先生学习书画，1974年毕业于南洋艺术学院，1980年毕业于英伦诺定成丹茵士大学(NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERsITY)艺术设计系，返国后先后在各大广告公司任职美术主任，后返母校美专执教凡十年，1989年辗转至拉萨新航艺术学院执教纯美术近11年，后再往澳洲墨尔本皇家理工大学就读纯艺术硕士学位，在美专拉萨这22年期间，努力进修各项中西艺术，精研传统及现代艺术理论，个人主办了凡22次的个展(国内外包括欧洲、日本、台湾、印尼、马来西亚、澳洲、纽西兰)引起艺坛重视。梁氏作风除传统书画，也善指墨、现代书法、中西绘制法等。

       除此之外，梁氏也屡获国内外艺术大奖，1970／71年获得新加坡青年艺术中国画奖，1978年获新加坡交通与新闻部艺术优异奖，1994年更获得新国大华银行中国画第一名，其作品也广被国内外艺术馆、中心收藏，而在2003年也获得韩国亚细亚艺术展的优异大奖谓为美谈。近年活跃于新艺坛，主办许多有意义的国际交流展，如新马水墨画交流展及新韩交流展等，推动艺术不遗余力，现为新加坡妙华艺术家协会会长，国际艺术文化交流协会理事长(附属妙华)，国际艺术文化教育协会(附属妙华)机构之名誉理事长，新加坡美术总会秘书长兼副会长，近日也被委为亚太区组织新加坡区执行主席，桃李满天下，积极为艺术推动作出许多贡献，这个角色将继续下去，著作有：《梁氏兄弟画集》、《梁振康书画集》、《梁振康艺术作品展》1992／2000凡二集。其巨作也搜集在《大型新加坡画集》亚洲及欧洲各重要画展专辑。2005年再度于星洲国家艺术通讯部大展厅举行“梁振康现代书画艺术大观回顾大展”(个人第23次美展)。2006年9月也先后在北京通州博物馆举行个人艺术展(个人第24次个展)，获得当地艺术界好评。同年6月也先后带领妙华艺协参与世界艺术家联合总会(香港)在星洲主办“亚太区艺术交流大展”(北京、香港、澳门、古隆坡、新加坡、韩国)，获得新加坡政府国家艺术理事会，李氏基金高度重视。

       I have been contributing to the visual art industry for the past 30 years；being a professional artist，an art practitioner and an art educator．

       I have also invoIved myself in promoting Art and Culture in Singapore；being the Founder and Chairman of the Singapore Miao Hua Chinese Art Society for 13 years，since 1995．I have been working for the Federation ofArt Societies Singapore as the General Secretary for about 12 years．My major task iS to link up with a11 art societies to work together as a Team．

       Since 2001．the Singapore Miao Hua Chinese Art Society has been working closely on the international level with countries such as Malaysia，Korea，China，Tha；land，Taiwan and Hong Kong．These kinds of art—exchange／art—exhibition programs have received remarkable success．

       I have organized 24 solo exhibitions，both locally and internationally(Jakarta，Indonesia；Japan；Taiwan；China；Spain；and most notably,Kuala Lumpur,johor Babru，Sandakan，Penang，Kedah，Perak，Malaysia；) I was also involved in group exhibitions in foreign countries many times．I believe that only through exhibitions can we learn to have a better understanding of people's lives and cultures．

       Travelling brings creative ideas．I Started learning the art of Chinese Calligraphy and basic Chinese Painting from Master Tan Kheng Chew who initiated me to the art world．

       I studied a western art course at NAFA in 1974，then in Trent Nottingham University (United Kingdom)，and got my degree by 1979；afterwhich 1 went to work as a designer in a local advertising agency．I believed that if 1 wanted to be an artist，I must have SUfflcient funds tO support my art．

       Three yesrs later, I joined NAFA and after that,LaSalle SIA as a lecturer for 22 years；gradually building my art capacity．During this time，I had many opportunities to meet artists locally and also abroad，during my travels．These have served to broaden flay visual art standards．

       In 1966，I enrolled into Royal Melbourne Institute ofTechnology to do my Masters of Fine Art．1 wanted to find out if the Eastern style of artwork could be portrayed through the Western style．The blending of both art styles was Successful_Professor Michael Field assisted me many a time as my course tutor．I believed that the Iearning of the art iS of no limitation．Many things need to be pondered and understood．Methods to stimulate your ideas must be found before awarded with your own style．Thoughts are also important as in art matching；whereby theV have to be blended nicely．I do not keep to one but a11 sorts of various art techniques that I have learnt from others．I tend to only apply and implement the techniques as I deem fit．I have come to my own style of art rather than to always mimic others so as to have my own artistic character．

       For my 25nd Solo Exhibition this year,I hope I can display 60 pieces of work．The title of this year’s exhibition will be named“Stephen Leong’s 2007 Artistic Expression”This exhibition will be based on'yin'and'yang’as in Chinerse belief  to portray the harmony in the Eastern and Western techniques which I have applied to my art．

       I will be having art catalogues in sets of 2；Book 1 on advertisements from sponsors and Book 2 divided into 5 main sections：
1．Traditional and Modern Chinese ink technique combinations
2．A new finger painting technique
3．Creative Calligraphy showcasing cultural exchange
4．Modern Chinese Art stimulates new life
5．Personal creation of poems depicting my expericnes in the art world for the past 30 years.
